After living on the streets for nearly 20 years, Shanon recently began visiting ReVive’s Engagement Center.

He felt comfortable at ReVive because we work with individuals through all aspects of their recovery journey, including relapse. During one of his recent visits, Jim, a Rush social worker, noticed that Shanon was experiencing symptoms of withdrawal. The Rush and ReVive supportive service teams sprang into action and immediately contacted Mar Now, an emergency service that connects people to a doctor and medication-assisted recovery for substance use disorder.

Five months later, Shanon is sober and continues to work with Rush’s Substance Use Intervention Team on his mental health and substance use disorders. Shanon has also obtained housing and works with the ReVive team on his housing and recovery goals.
